HI -
Thankfully, disabling the protections worked for me. Did you try that? I know it isn't the solution we want, but it got me running again.

We are aware of this problem and will release a fix in an upcoming update. Here are 2 workarounds that have been successful for other Community members.
In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Run
cd %userprofile%
press Enter on your keyboard 4. In the command prompt, type the following command:
cd OneDrive
press Enter on your keyboard 5. In the command prompt, type the following command:
icacls %userprofile%\OneDrive /inheritance:e
(where %userprofile%\OneDrive is the location of the folder you want to fix)
press Enter on your keyboard
If these methods do not work, OneDrive files can still be accessed from different locations, including phone, tablet and online. Any single file from the OneDrive folder can be copied and pasted onto the desktop
and opened from there.

Are they working on an update? I have heard nothing of this. The "work around" does not work either. Several of my post to this site have been responded to by Microsoft employees that monitor this forum. They know how frustrated we all are.
I wonder how the people that pay a monthly subscription to "Office" feel about all of this....
I have transferred all of my Office files to my old laptop running windows 7. This was not an option that I wanted, it was the only option that I had.
I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. When I use almost any MS Office product, such as Word or Publisher--in both version 2010 and 2013--I cannot save the file. It goes faint and the little circle just spins around. It appears to crash the computer almost. Will the fix they mention that is coming out (when?) fix the problem or is there something else I should do??? Very frustrated here.
HEY MICROSOFT !!!! ARE YOU WORKING ON THIS OR ARE YOU GOING TO JUST LET YOUR CUSTOMERS STAND ALONE IN THE DARK.... I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY THAT A GREAT COMPETETION COMES ALONG....YOU WILL LOSE A LOT.
TO MANY PEOPLE HAVE POSTED OF THESE PROBLEMS AND THEY CONTINUE TO GO UNRESOLVED.
Can't save to the desktop, flash drive, no where.
