Can’t open or save files after upgrading to Windows 10

I'm in school. The fact that I can no longer open and work with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is killing me. I'm borrowing other computers and relying on my iPad to get work done. Unbelievable.

We are aware of this problem and will release a fix in an upcoming update. Here are 2 workarounds that have been successful for other Community members.

In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Run

1. type %userprofile% into the Run box and click OK to open your local profile folder
2. Double-click the OneDrive folder
3. When you get prompted to allow access, click to allow access. OR
4. In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Command Prompt (Admin)
5. Click Yes to the User Account Control prompt
6. In the command prompt, type the following command:

cd %userprofile%

press Enter on your keyboard 4. In the command prompt, type the following command:

cd OneDrive

press Enter on your keyboard 5. In the command prompt, type the following command:

icacls %userprofile%\OneDrive /inheritance:e

(where %userprofile%\OneDrive is the location of the folder you want to fix)

press Enter on your keyboard

If these methods do not work, OneDrive files can still be accessed from different locations, including phone, tablet and online. Any single file from the OneDrive folder can be copied and pasted onto the desktop

and opened from there.

I tried this potential solution And I couldnt get it to work.  The fact that Microsoft said it would provide a future solution when I can't even save a file right now is incredulous.  I now have to save it in google docs and makes me rhink about using it more while evaluating to move my company off of Office.

Microsoft does not even acknowledge the fact that there is a problem.  I would really like to see a news article about this issue.  A NATIONAL new article.  Why is a "large" company "allowed" to promote and sell a software that does not work.  Many people depend of this product for their livelihood.  So disappointing.   In response to your post buy a Mac and avoid this issue as Microsoft seems to have no intention of solving it.  Good luck.  As an after thought here, I am going to contact each major news station and ask that they do a story on this.

I wonder if the IRS uses Microsoft software???  LOL   Probably not.

Can you please let everyone know if your issues have been resolved? I see people are still having the same issues right up until the end of Dec 2015 (page 11 of this forum). Reading people's experiences on this forum has been horrifying. I will not upgrade to Windows 10 until I feel more confident bugs like this have been resolved and suggest others wait too. or buy a MAC.
