We are aware of this problem and will release a fix in an upcoming update. Here are 2 workarounds that have been successful for other Community members. In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Run type %userprofile% into the Run box and click OK to open your local profile folder Double-click the OneDrive folder When you get prompted to allow access, click to allow access. OR In Win 10, Right-click on the Start button and choose Command Prompt (Admin) Click Yes to the User Account Control prompt In the command prompt, type the following command: cd %userprofile% press Enter on your keyboard 4. In the command prompt, type the following command: cd OneDrive press Enter on your keyboard 5. In the command prompt, type the following command: icacls %userprofile%\OneDrive /inheritance:e (where %userprofile%\OneDrive is the location of the folder you want to fix) press Enter on your keyboard If these methods do not work, OneDrive files can still be accessed from different locations, including phone, tablet and online. Any single file from the OneDrive folder can be copied and pasted onto the desktop and opened from there.

You have to reinstall everything, including Office. I believe Microsoft has used Windows 10 to wipe out any stolen or pirated apps on computers requiring you to reinstall everything. The catch is you cannot find a cd to install the app, you have to go thru the Microsoft store to get it. There are other stupid things they have done to better the features and get you to put everything in the "cloud". Doing this has caused a ton of bugs. I have MSN Premium I pay $10 a month for. When I'm logged into MSN and I hit the mail icon, Microsoft edge pops up with Hotmail. WTH. I dont want the free Hotmail because all my stuff is saved in MSN. Windows 10 changed my desktop settings so my desktop log in was the same as my MSN log in. WTH. Am I suppose to give out my MSN log in info to my wife and kids so they can log in to the desktop. OH I am suppose to create a MSN account for my wife and kids so they can log into the desktop. You people are a bunch of idiots!!!! My wife and kids dont use MSN and dont care to use it so dont force me to create an account for them to use the family desktop. MSN explorer flash player doesn't work. I cant log in to a few of my bank accounts thru MSN Premium. I have to use Microsoft Edge. The scroll wheel on my mouse stutters when I scroll up or down with MSN Premium. Imagine not being able to access all my business records and personal data and trying to copy them into OneDrive when each OneDrive file takes at least 60seconds to access. OMG. This is just appalling, Microsoft. Why it isn't in the general news is a mystery.

The computer was on Windows 8.1 (a nightmare operating system) and is primarily used for web browsing so had nothing much on it thankfully. After the install, I found that ALL my Microsoft Office programs had disappeared. Vanished. The icons were on the desktop, but they were blank. I could not find the programs on my hard drive anymore (despite having Office 365 previously installed). I then found lots of forums like this one where others have been having precisely this same issue for many months now (and other worse issues as well, such as not being able to open or save their existing documents). Having spent the whole weekend trying all the suggested fixes, and with nothing working, I reinstalled Office 365 and now I have the icons and their associated programs back. I am totally shocked that such a big corporation as Microsoft could launch Windows 10 and encourage mass transition by millions of users when something like this seems to commonly happen to those who install Windows 10. What I don't get is why it only happens with SOME downloads/SOME computers, but not with EVERY computer. If it happened with everyone, there would be massive media interest and even more complaints of course. The fact that it is happening to many thousands of people is not as significant as if it happened to hundreds of thousands. The whole process has been disturbing and I am buying a MAC as I can't stand the glitches with Windows anymore. I also read that their in-built anti-virus software Windows Defender rated 0.5 out of 6 recently for picking up viruses and malware.

I have sent links to this discussion board to Fox, NBC and ABC news networks in hopes that they will do a story and kick Microsoft into gear or admit that they have not created a legitimate product that works.
