Can’t open or save files after upgrading to Windows 10

My computer does not allow me to save documents -  excel and word documents- except to my desktop - not to my documents folders. I am unable to save updated documents without having to rename them.   Does the above solution fix this?  i note that the "patch' was supposed to come out sometime in the past 6 weeks!

My issue is with Microsoft Excel, not one Drive.  I lose saved changes when leaving a workbook open for a prolonged period of time.  After leaving it open, when I attempt to reopen the workbook, all I see is a ghosted worksheet, no gridlines or functions, it is white.  I close it and try to  reopen the same workbook and all of my saved changes are gone.  Try as I might, I can't retrieve the workbook with my changes intact.  This didn't happen with previous versions of windows

You must realize that the problem is not microsoft alone. A buddy of mine is a big Linux user and he says that he has had troubles there as well. I have had problems with Google chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer...The new Edge works better for me (we can wait and see how long that lasts)...

I think a lot of fidgety business is generated by the many popular and not so popular web browsers...I will explain (I thinK?). Everything you enter that says FREE is NOT!!! Kind of like FREE SHIPPING. The fact is that shipping is added to the cost. The same goes for get it free sites. First you sign up, give your name address, phone number, email address, City, State, age, and maybe what brand of toilet paper you use. No kidding. Some free sites have you tell them what products you use or how often you watch TV...and a million other types of questions. That is as a favor?, for letting you be at the FREE site.

The FREE site then takes all that you willingly told them about yourself, what car you drive, that you rent or own a home, how much you make a year...hmmmmm? That is profiling. How old are you? Are you single or married...how many kids...Charmin or Care Bear? All these seemingly mundane questions tell them who to sell your name to...Ahhhhhhh...yes they find out all they can and sell you to target practicing marketers. Thats business! They have  to know who to sell the **** to.

The internet is also like that. First they sell advertising to the folks who profile you...who sells your profile to a mass marketer...who sells it to similar groups of marketers that represent your likes...and finally they all have your name , address, phone number, who your grandmother is and the middle name of your first grade teacher. Hang with me for a while...I'm not saying microsoft is to blame?

We are all to willing to "take a moment" to fill out all those profile forms. I sell online at directfromwestfourthblvd.flyingcart.com under new construction. I am enraged with not being able to work because of  internet glitches.

Has anybody ever noticed that around the time a pop-up from your security software asks for permission to allow a program it 'sort of' doesn't? Yet on the social networks where you are likely to find problems there is less interruption.  Symantec (Norton) and Kaspersky internet security both are extremely pushy whenever you are online.

Ok now...to end this string I will say, we all attract  malicious spy and malware. Somewhere somebody is chuckling because they bought your PCaddress...those funny numbers that say's  you. Intuit web sites have access to exact PC addresses. Even on eBay if my address come up wrong I have to prove who I am...they know me by my computer address. All computers have an address...you can find it on your system Nobody but you have that address registered in your name. The better websites have programs to reveal the source of your PC.

Realize there is a lot of adware called no exit and non-exit. Some of those ads can make your computer wretch and puke. I am guessing it is all the above and then some that interrupts a lot of legitimate companies. Maybe it isn't microsoft causing there programs crash and burn...maybe we revealed ourselves too openly to the advertiser stalkers? I wonder?

Go for a walk, eat some sunflower seeds, watch TV, have a beer, a glass of pop, make love...but for the sake of all that's insane...get off that box...shut it down unless you think it won't start back up? FORGET ABOUT IT! It isn't working today...right now...maybe later.

So where did you find the user profile folder to "allow".

Believe it or not I lost 2 months worth of word files on Saturday. A friend of mine told me to go to  wikipedia and Libre office. So I did and down-loaded the program it is like a word program but actually has more stuff. I havent used it long enough to make a sound judgement but until microsoft can say word has integrity not to crash I have to have  something that works.

Ive used word since I had my first computer and always liked it. Since microsoft word launched as a web program it has had nothing but problems. I wonder if so many people are online using it that there are not enough web-servers to handle the bandwidth? I don't know? I'm not a tech and microsoft techs have not told me a solution to their fidgety program. It still crashes even after installing it. Until microsoft can assure me word will work without a hitch I am going to try other options even if I have to buy an old fashion typewriter (pun). In the mean time I will try the Libre office.
