Making desktop onenote default for windows 10

Hello

So I've just received my windows 10 pro today

I tried making my onenote desktop as my default but when i bring up the menu from the right side and click "note", it still brings up the none desktop version of onenote

how do i fix this?

    strange that this hasn't worked for me.

    I have changed the open string to be the same as my onenote.exe

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\onenote-cmd\shell]

    But no joy??

    Yes we have multiple versions, OneNote for Office (called either "desktop" or "2013") and the OneNote that comes with Windows 10. We would like the surface pen default to be the OneNote for Office app.

    ANSWER:

    A registry modification is in order. This registry modification will cause the "Note" Quick Action button to launch the OneNote Desktop application installed with MS Office.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    Each one of us may use the Windows Feedback app built into Windows 10 to let them know - I have.

    1. Just click in the search box and type the word feedback
    2. Choose the Windows Feedback app
    3. Once the app opens, type in the word OneNote in the search box inside the app
    4. Choose one of the existing items on the subject of OneNote to vote for, or raise your own issue

    The more votes an item receives the more likely they will pay attention.
