I've just downloaded Office 2016 and the first thing I noticed is that the icon spacing on the Quick Access Toolbar has been expanded somewhat ridiculously - there is almost a full icon of space between each icon. This has pushed many of the useful icons off the screen and rendered it somewhat useless. I can't find any option for changing the spacing - how can I fix this or, failing that, how can I revert to the previous version of office? Impacts Word, Powerpoint, Excel, OneNote and Outlook.

So, does this only work with the Black theme or will it work across the board? I downgraded back to Office 2013 because I had to work and I don't want to upgrade back to 2016 until I'm sure they have it properly fixed. Let me know :)
Someone at MS had a "vision" that the corporate future is smartphones with tiny touch screens. Too bad they ignored the present user base.
Probably the same person who decided to change the UI to ribbons.
In both cases, the fix was trivial. Just allow users to make the choice between the 2 options.

Make the full spectrum of colors that are available in Shading also available in Highlighting. I often use Highlighting to mark important or unusual text streams and I would like to search for particular colors of Highlighting .

Is there a link I can complain to Microsoft about this issue. Why is the spacing so big and who thought that it would help? Don't they do user studies on this. Anyone that customized the access bar is probably unappy

Appears that is one more perk for constantly paying for a 365 "subscription" rather than paying only once. In theory the fix will appear in Office Vnext one-time payment.
There still is a chance it will appear in a monthly update some time in the future.
Did notice that little 365 'qualification' when the MS tech wrote in to say they were working on it. No, nada, nothing changed on the 2016 QAT though I have the office-auto-update on and noticed it popping up on the test machine today. Was asked to close the Office 2016 apps, did so, let it whir, apply. Restarted system or playing with the resolutions, same gargantuan spacing... back to office 2013 [actually mostly work in 2010... still a waste of money it was, 149 Euros, to even try].
