Hi,
I just upgraded to Office 2016 via the Office 365 subscription. Working on a Surface Pro 3 and Windows 10. I am mostly using OneNote 2016 to take handwritten notes using the Surface Pen.
The disappearing ink issue, (that was a problem in the OneNote 2013 edition, until it was fixed), seems to be back: parts of written stuff disappear. I was writing in OneNote 2016, and out of nowhere, parts of what I had written earlier disappeared. Though the issue is not as severe as it was earlier, when the disappearing was very frequent.
This needs to be fixed ASAP, it renders OneNote not very useful for note-taking!

Yes I agree with the dissappearing bug - but i also get drawing parts arbitrarily moved in the drawing - some hand written notes moved or transposed. It makes the app completely unusable.

Please microsoft, this sort of stuff id what makes people buy apple. Stuff like this doesn't happen over there. Don't make me do it...
I have all updates installed, and problem still occurs. BTW, when I tried to find a way how to disable handwriting recognition, I was not able to do it. Just to reconfigure, not to disable. Do anybody knows, where this button is located?
Please try the suggestion I gave earlier and disable handwriting recognition. If you are on Win10, you should also install the latest updates especially KB3093266.
On a lot of PCs, the mentioned update cannot be installed successfully - mine included.
In the meantime KB3097617 was released - I was hoping that it will resolve the issue.
Nope. Still unable to install; this is the second cumulative update I had to block - it is getting a bit ridiculous.
