When logging into https://portal.office.com it says "connected to windows"

Has anyone else on this thread attached their corporate work credentials to the Microsoft Store? I did when I reimaged my computer with the latest build of enterprise, and it seems that is what is causing the issue...for me at least, but I'm still testing.

I originally posted this in the "Manage Office 365" forum, and the MSFT tech suggested that I try to get in contact with Windows 10 tech support as the issue seems to be related with Windows Store and cached credentials.

When I navigate to https://portal.office.com, and try to login, the initial screen says "connected to Windows". When I attempt to click on my username, it does nothing. I then have to select use another account and type my username again.

I have the latest build of Windows 10 Enterprise and am using IE 11, with automatic logon only in intranet zone enabled.

After testing, it seems that it’s related to the Windows Store. I’ve tested this with a brand new VM also.

1. Sign into Windows Store with Live Account

2. Sign into Windows Store with Corporate Account (365/Domain Account)

3. Test portal.office.com, it logs in normally, without the need to use the workaround.

4. Sign out of Windows Store with Corporate Account.

5. Log out of computer

6. Log back into Computer

7. Try opening portal.office.com and I get the “connected to windows” prompt

8. Close IE, sign into Windows Store with Corporate Account.

9. Open IE and I do not get prompted to enter in credentials when opening portal.office.com

10. Even when corporate credentials are attached the Microsoft Store, it will randomly show “connected to windows” after login and log off. Only after signing out of the Windows Store and then back into the Windows Store with corporate credentials does the issue clear.

I am having the same problem on my laptop:

Windows 10 Nov update

Connected to on-premises AD which is sync'd with Azure AD Connect

Added Office 365 Work Account to Windows for mail, calendar, etc

No ADFS

Email address also has Microsoft Account associated (also joined to Windows)
