I purchased Visio2013 Professional but now cannot use it unless I install it on a different machine.
There are a couple of possibilities.
V M
Try installing a virtual machine, Hyper V if you have a Pro version of Windoze, or VirtualBox and then installing Visio 2013 inside of the VM. In theory, that should isolate the 2 CTR environments adequately (NOTE: this is just a theory, I have not tested
it myself) ie
Create a Test Lab using VirtualBox So That You Can Test Without Breaking Your PC
http://www.howtogeek.com/148785/how-to-create-a-test-lab-so-that-you-can-follow-the-geek-school/
Our Geek School articles can get pretty complicated, and there’s no reason to do a ton of crazy stuff on your own desktop PC. Instead, you can just VirtualBox like we do to create virtual machines for all of your testing. Here’s how to do it.
You can even network multiple virtual machines together, so as long as you have a decent amount of RAM in your PC, you can fully test a scenario without messing with your PC’s settings at all. It’s a much safer way to learn!
Before we get started there are a few things that we will need:
- A copy of VirtualBox which can be obtained here.
- A Windows 7 ISO which can be obtained here.
- A Windows Server 2008 R2 ISO which can be obtained here.
Retrograde Upgrade as Approved for Exchange issue
the following links document a policy change that allows roll back to Office 2013 due to Outlook 2016 problems connecting to Exchange 2007 Server. Maybe someone can make the case that roll back should be allowed for Visio 2013 & Project 2013 victims (pardon
me, owners). Many of them already suffered enough just trying to get those programs to run with the Office 365 CTR environment installed
Change in Policy - Maybe Rollback - "Unsupported version of Microsoft Exchange" error when you use Outlook 2016 to connect an Exchange 2007 account”

Everyone I talked to at Microsoft support said that there was no turning back from 2016 if you subscribe to office 365. Although it took four different attempts to get someone from support to listen to me -
… spoke with her supervisor, took control of my PC and my laptop, uninstalled 2016 and reinstalled 2013.
One caution - make sure to set office 365 to not perform any updates or you will get 2016 back on your device automatically.
Here's my Ticket number if it will help you: #13057424482.
Finally, Viviana said there is a fix coming and to call back in about a month to see if you can configure exchange the way one you in 2013. Thx.

Rolling Back to 2013 from 2016

Thanks for everyone's comments on this thread; Customers can un-install 2016 and re-install 2013; This is important since due to required functionality on versions of Exchange 2010 or later, Outlook 2016 does not support connecting Exchange
2007. (See system requirements https://products.office.com/ )
Business subscriptions can directly download Office 2013 (see https://community.office365.
. ) while home/personal can also work through support on getting this resolved as needed.
Let me know if you are unable to get connected.
