I have no reason to think that Germany would have a different policy to this problem.
Don't feel bad. Another person, on another question thread got exactly the same response from English speaking support.
Unfortunately, all I can suggest is that you try contacting support again. Rather than taking "no" as the answer, start off by asking for a trouble ticket number. That way they have to record information from your session. And when they "accidentally" lose
the connection, you can call back and cite your ticket number so that you don't have to start from scratch. The article is on an official MS website, so keep emphasizing that point with everyone you talk to. When they say they can't help you, ask to be transferred
to a supervisor. Just keep asking to be transferred until you get the right answer. Eventually the word will spread through MS.
I know, it is a very inadequate answer, but all I can make.
Your alternative is to go public. Find an ombudsman or someone in the media to speak for you. A media rep would carry the thread of publicizing the poor customer service. It is cheaper for MS to "give in" and fix your problem than to let the story get
out to the general public...
