context numbering

I also have the same problem since I migrated to Office 2016. The funny part is that auto-numbers are shown correctly when you print out your document.

Any correction for this bug in Office Word 2016?

A workaround is to put a Persian space before numbers.

To do so, Select "Define new number format" in the numbering dialog box.

Insert a Persian space into "Number format" text box.

Then select the desired "Number style" from the drop down menu.

For long documents, it's better to define a style for your numbering according to the above guidelines and use it whenever it is necessary.

Though we don’t right now, we will have a fix for this issue in the near future. Keep checking back on this thread, and I or one of my colleagues will notify you when it’s ready.

In the meantime, it looks like there are two possible workarounds:

·        If you’re not working with mixed content (in other words, Hindi only), then choose File > Options > Advanced. Then underShow document content, next to Numeral, click Hindi.

·        If you are working with mixed content (both Hindi and Arabic), create a two column table. In one column, put the left-to-right Arabic numbers, and in the other column, put the right-to-left Hindi text. This solution will avoid the numbered list until the coming fix is released.

I hope this helps in the short term. Again, we’ll post here when the fix is released.
