    I've had countless times where I drew out detailed notes and diagrams during lecture only to find out a chunk of important text has gone missing. Worst part is if I wasn't completely paying attention to what I was writing, I may have permanently lost valuable notes.

    This problem has been going on forever with no fix. Sad state of affairs for Micro$oft.

    We are working on the bug.  I only suggested the Universal app as a possible alternative until we have an update.

    We are working on resolving this reported problem. I don't believe changing your device or resetting will help. For now, my suggestion is to restart the device when you hit either of the bugs since it clears out the root cause. You can also use the OneNote Win10 app which doesn't have the ink disappearing bug.

    I will post here when we have a fix available.

    The OneNote Win 10 app is the poor brother to the desktop apps (OneNote 2013 and 2016) in terms of features and ease of use. Please don't postpone fixing the disappearing ink problem in the mistaken belief that we (your customers) are just going to switch to the Win 10 app and be happy.
