Hi James,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 Technical Preview is much appreciated.

YES, Office 2007 is compatible with Windows 10, I suggest you to follow the link Compatibility centerand check if it helps.

However, you may upgrade to the latest Office version.

Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.

Which versions of Microsoft Office work on Windows 10?

The following versions of Microsoft Office with the latest Service Packs have been confirmed to be compatible with Windows 10:

Older versions of Office such as Office 2003 and Office XP are not certified compatible with Windows 10 but might work using compatibility mode.

The only solution was to use a different office suite and I have installed Libre Office and it works almost like MS Office.  I have opened Excel, Word and Envelope printing and all works.  But as far as the OS update I tried the update several times but no joy. After reboot I get a StopCode, and have to restore drive C, which is no fun and takes time to get all working as I had before the update

First of all, you did not mention which version of office you have.  Secondly, if you have 2003 version or earlier then I request you to not upgrade your version to Win 10.  Just stay where you were earlier and continue doing your work but you won't get any updates nor any support for future failures in your system from Microsoft.

Try installing Office Pro 2007 or later in Win 10 and open the office & create one document and save it as default & now check whether all you documents created in 2003 version or earlier can be opened in the newer version.  I cannot guarantee this but you can try.

I HAVE AN OLD VERSION OF MICROSOFT OFC PRO WITH FRONT PAGE AND WHEN ALLOWING THE LATEST VERSION OF WIN 10, ALL THE PROGRAM AND ALL FILES CREATED WITH THIS OFC WILL BE DELEATED. I DO NOT HAVE FUNDS TO UPGRADE THE OFC SUITE BUT HAVE DOWNOADED LIBRE OFFICE AND IT IS SOMEWHAT COMPATABLE WITH THE OFC THAT I HAVE BEEN USING SINCE THE YEAR 2000.  I HAVE ALLOWED THE UPGRADE SEVERAL TIMES AND I GET A STOPCODE UPON REBUTE. I HAVE HAD TO REDO MY HARD DRIVE 5 TIMES IN 10 DAYS. AND MICROSOFT HAS NOT RESPONDED TO ANY QUESTIONS VIA EMAIL. I AM STILL USING WIN 10 1507.
