YES, Office 2007 is compatible with Windows 10, I suggest you to follow the link Compatibility centerand check if it helps.

However, you may upgrade to the latest Office version.

Which versions of Microsoft Office work on Windows 10?

The following versions of Microsoft Office with the latest Service Packs have been confirmed to be compatible with Windows 10:

Older versions of Office such as Office 2003 and Office XP are not certified compatible with Windows 10 but might work using compatibility mode.

    While there's no guaranteed way to say that Office 2007 messed Windows 10 up, I think it's unlikely.

    Try using a system restore point from before you installed Office 2007. Then, before installing Office 2007 again, update Windows to bring it current. Then install Office 2007, install Service Pack 3 for Office 2007, and finally, the most recent updates for it.     I recently bought a Lenovo ideapad with windows 10 64bit. I installed Office 2007, did many updates for Office 2007 plus Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3213986).

    Downloading updates 10%

    Got error code 0x80073712

    I had to use my new USB recovery to get up and running again.

    So then I uninstalled Office 2007, rebooted and retried KB3213986 again, but that patch still fails for above error code.

    So I still wonder if Office 2007 messed me up?

    Yes, I am installing it now after figuring it out. Right click on .exe file and hit test compatibility and it fixes it to work. Then put in your key and it starts installing. I knew it worked somehow because I had it on windows 10 once, but had to reformat laptop and reistall everything. Now I can use it again. :)
