Click Start and in the Search field, enter

    %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office12

Press Enter. That should open the folder where WINWORD.EXE is located. When you right-click a document you should be able to choose Open With, then browse to that location and choose WINWORD.EXE.

    Hi David,

There are different possible reasons why your Word 2007 doesn't show up in the default list of programs for Windows 10. One reason is when you downloaded another version of Word from 2010 and below. Word versions from 2010 and below cannot be both installed in Windows.

To determine what causes the issue, we would like to have a screenshot of the list of your installed programs.

    Regards.

As you can see Office 2007 does not show up in the association list but is in the installed programs list. However, trying to locate the actual program (maybe Winword.exe) or something like it gives no results. When I use the the start menu and find the .lnk and try to use the "take me to the file folder" it takes me to the file folder with the .lnk. Like I said "dog chasing it's tail". I've also "uninstalled" Office 10 or whatever it's called these days.

    Regards,

    David

Compatibility mode would be great if I could find the program to make the adjustment. Microsoft seems to have buried the program, somewhere it doesn't want it to be found, when it did the installation. Microsoft Office 2007 for Home and Student.
