I am getting the error, “Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. 30088-4” when trying to install Office 365 Home Premium/University. What should I do?

Hi Vidyaranjan,

If you receive this error when trying to install Office 365 Home Premium/University:

“Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. Error code 30088-4”

Use this article to remove Office and then try installing it again.

    Run while you still can.  I signed up for the free trial of Office 365 home, and then decided to subscribe after a couple of weeks.  Now every month I get the "Unlicensed Product".  When I try to follow their links to register I get the same error message you do.

    After several hours with tech support / help desks / uninstall-reinstalls / fixing what tech support has broken, I'm told this week it is because my original sign-up date and purchase date are different - therefore it is my fault and I have to spend more hours with Microsoft tech support fixing their software bugs.

    RUN AWAY WHILE YOU STILL CAN!!!!

    I have not been able to fully install Office 365.  I keep getting the error message.  Please let me know what I need to do.  If I uninstall Office 365 will I be able to reinstall it without having to pay an additional fee?

    This past weekend I was not able to open any application within Office 365 word, excel, etc.......

    I finally decided to delete the file and re installed Office 365 and it resolved the problem...

    The forum has been quite useful
