I am getting the error, “Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. 30088-4” when trying to install Office 365 Home Premium/University. What should I do?

Hi Vidyaranjan,

If you receive this error when trying to install Office 365 Home Premium/University:

“Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. Error code 30088-4”

Use this article to remove Office and then try installing it again.

    I have just received the same message when I opened outlook today?

    I have been running office 365 for over a year and my subscription is paid in full - I do not want to re-install it.  why am I getting a message to activate it - its was already activated and its set to autoactivate when it renews in 3 days.

    I hope I don't loose all of my mail? and the message it stating that I am going to loose all of my mail in 6 days and it wont active overt the internet

    After spending an hour with the "Help"less desk (and given wrong information) I then went to Tech Support - THEY FOUND THE ANSWER!!!

    1. Right click on MS Word (or other Office Program) and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
    2. Open a blank document - you will still get the "Unlicensed" message
    3. Close the document
    4. Open MS Word normally
    5. The "Unlicensed" message disappears
