Microsoft Charge Taxes (VAT) but refuse to give a VAT invoice on payment of renewal

I have just had a very lengthy on line discussion (that was a complete waste of time) where I have requested from Microsoft.com,  a full VAT Invoice for a payment that I have made but have not received it apart from a receipt which is not an invoice with VAT etc. shown so I can claim my payment back.  

It is so difficult getting help from Microsoft  and the patronising words that are used is very infuriating - sentences like *"*Please forgive us for the inconvenience that this has caused you, but please do not worry, I will be happy to help you resolve this today." what is all that about it is like I am communicating with a computer - maybe I am.

How do I get a full invoice from Microsoft which includes VAT (taxes) - thanks

Hi

Microsoft do give VAT invoices but you need to be using the correct browser.

Make sure the browser you are using is either Edge or Internet Explorer and log into your account, select payments & billing, then the order you require a VAT receipt for, click on `details' under the total amount shown, then tax invoice and voila there it is.

    It not "Voila there it is". I am using Internet explorer yet there is no "tax invoice" options on the "details" page

    If you are selling in Europe and charging VAT, it is a legal requirement to supply a VAT invoice when requested. If you are not able to comply with UK or European law regarding VAT, you are not entitle to charging VAT.

    I downloaded Explorer specifically to get a VAT/GST receipt after reading these instructions. There was absolutely nothing different using the Explorer browser to using Chrome. There was no tax invoice button under details all I could get was an invoice with the amount of GST but no registration number for Microsoft making it useless.

    no that is not a VAT invoice. writing the word VAT does not make it a VAT invoice. for it to be an invoice it must have a tax data and VAT registration number.

    No its not, a valid VAT invoice needs the VAT number of the seeling party as well. The details doesnt even contain the full company name of seller (Microsoft)
