Microsoft Charge Taxes (VAT) but refuse to give a VAT invoice on payment of renewal

I have just had a very lengthy on line discussion (that was a complete waste of time) where I have requested from Microsoft.com,  a full VAT Invoice for a payment that I have made but have not received it apart from a receipt which is not an invoice with VAT etc. shown so I can claim my payment back.  

It is so difficult getting help from Microsoft  and the patronising words that are used is very infuriating - sentences like *"*Please forgive us for the inconvenience that this has caused you, but please do not worry, I will be happy to help you resolve this today." what is all that about it is like I am communicating with a computer - maybe I am.

How do I get a full invoice from Microsoft which includes VAT (taxes) - thanks

Hi

Microsoft do give VAT invoices but you need to be using the correct browser.

Make sure the browser you are using is either Edge or Internet Explorer and log into your account, select payments & billing, then the order you require a VAT receipt for, click on `details' under the total amount shown, then tax invoice and voila there it is.

    As a private person, I like to think, I am buying from a vendor, who is legit and pays the VAT to HMRC at their end after it has been charged from me. I

    How do you think it is acceptable in this day and age to have something that only works in some web browsers. Microsoft were legally obliged to give us a choice.

    Whilst this produces an invoice it does not produce an acceptable tax invoice with all the necessary details require by HMRC to recover the VAT. A VAT number would be a good place to start to produce a legal invoice. If they don't do it then they shouldn't be charging VAT.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem.

    I can get the breakdown on the "detail" page, which is an improvement, but it does NOT show your VAT number. 

    The VAT number for this purchase (that's Microsofts' number) is required please?
