Microsoft Charge Taxes (VAT) but refuse to give a VAT invoice on payment of renewal

I have just had a very lengthy on line discussion (that was a complete waste of time) where I have requested from Microsoft.com,  a full VAT Invoice for a payment that I have made but have not received it apart from a receipt which is not an invoice with VAT etc. shown so I can claim my payment back.  

It is so difficult getting help from Microsoft  and the patronising words that are used is very infuriating - sentences like *"*Please forgive us for the inconvenience that this has caused you, but please do not worry, I will be happy to help you resolve this today." what is all that about it is like I am communicating with a computer - maybe I am.

How do I get a full invoice from Microsoft which includes VAT (taxes) - thanks

Hi

Microsoft do give VAT invoices but you need to be using the correct browser.

Make sure the browser you are using is either Edge or Internet Explorer and log into your account, select payments & billing, then the order you require a VAT receipt for, click on `details' under the total amount shown, then tax invoice and voila there it is.

    I received the following email from Microsoft when I enquired about this. "

    As for your Office 365 Subscription, Microsoft does not offer VAT invoices for digital products."

    This came after I wrote requesting a proper Vat invoice for my Surface Pro 3 which I was told would take 45 days!

    It's amazing to me that Microsoft choose to act this way and also that they seem to be getting away with it. As far as I know, in the UK, it is a legal obligation to provide a Vat invoice if one is requested whenVat is charged.

    It's an incredible way to treat customers. I'll be cancelling my Office 365 subscription and returning the Surface. 

    I am surprised that there must be a Microsoft customer out there who is senior enough in the UK Treasury who would carry this forward. Where does the "tax" that is being collected by Microsoft "on behalf of the relevant tax authorities" going??????????????????

    I have eventually got into the account and there is no billing information  This is my only Microsoft account so it is not being mixed up with the possibility of other accounts.

    I am trying to get an invoice for a payment and have not been able to get one.  Is this Microsoft taking VAT money but not passing it on as they have charged me taxes but are unable to provide a legal invoice detailing what the tax rate or what government it is being paid to.  Next step is to contact the UK tax authorities regarding this issue as Microsoft just ignore my legal request.

    HI when I go to the billing icon the new page shows "

    500 - Internal server error." so that is not working either
