Rotate PDF's in OneNote

I noticed that OneNote always displays PDF's sideways after inserting them using the File Printout command.  I read some discussions where MS tried to say it had something to do with the printer driver in Adobe, etc., etc.  I don't understand why I have to install a 3rd party program (Onetastic) which does plenty of good things, but I really only use it for the rotate PDF menu that it provides.  Did the MS engineers just get too tired to include this very basic, totally necessary feature?

    I understand that you were not able to include the rotate feature for print out in OneNote in 2013, how about now 5 years later?  Any closer to a incorporated solution?  This is really a prominent issue with a very utilized aspect of OneNote, seems it should move higher on the prioritization list for microsoft.

    Thanks for the thorough explanation.  With it, I was able to find a work around (open the document in Adobe and print it to OneNote with the desired orientation).  The native (default) pdf reader in the Chrome browser I was using didn't support selecting the orientation, but Adobe did.

    I hope this is addressed in future updates to OneNote.

    If you want an issue addressed it is best you submit "feedback" directly to MS. They don't really pay attention to this forum.

    What I actually do is paste just the file and then open up the PDF and use the snipping tool to copy and paste. It is now a picture instead of a print image. Of course if it has more than one page it is a hassle. Hope that makes sense. You would think with technology the way it is today that the "rotate picture" icon would work for this, but who am I?...  :)

    Unfortunately, that work around didn't work for me when using Google Chrome because for whatever reason when selecting to Print, the web browser doesn't allow for altering the print file orientation. However, after copying the link to Microsoft Edge, the default web browser on my Windows 10 system, the Send to OneNote print command inserts my printout to OneNote perfectly (in the natural and correct orientation).

    So if all else fails, try Print > Send to OneNote in Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 users.
