I noticed that OneNote always displays PDF's sideways after inserting them using the File Printout command. I read some discussions where MS tried to say it had something to do with the printer driver in Adobe, etc., etc. I don't understand why I have to install a 3rd party program (Onetastic) which does plenty of good things, but I really only use it for the rotate PDF menu that it provides. Did the MS engineers just get too tired to include this very basic, totally necessary feature?

On my mac, inserting a PDF by dragging it into a OneNote 2106 page everything stays the way is should.
Managing PDF in OneNote is so good when it works, awful when it does not.
Well, another way, which might help the orientation, of the document is to print the pages to one note. I was able to get landscape images onto one note this way. Do not know if this will help anyone. You can also select which pages to print if you're trying to select certain orientations. After that it is just copy and paste manipulations.
i would like to import the pdf into onenote but that didn't work for me.
ok, so ive downloaded the onetastic. it seems that i can only convert one page at a time from portrait to landscape. Is there a way to convert the entire pdf to landscape? also, the one page I selected and converted will not unselect and i am unable to select another slide to convert. is there a trick to this?
This is a long standing bug in the "Send to OneNote" printer driver and it's about time that Microsoft solves it. Sure, there are numerous workarounds one can use to overcome the problem, but the bottom line is the orientation of the document needs to be automatically detected by the OneNote printer driver.
To illustrate why this has to be solved by Microsoft, consider the following scenario: a MS Word document contains to sections, the first section is in portrait orientation and the second in landscape. If you print this document to PDF using the "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer driver the result is a PDF where all pages are in the correct orientation.
To print a PDF to OneDrive is no different from printing an MS Word doc to PDF. As such, it is puzzling that Microsoft are able to do this correctly in their PDF driver, but not the print to OneNote driver. You'd think that if this got to the correct folks within Microsoft they could fix it in a heartbeat!
Hello, what I did to solve this problem was to convert the pdf file to a powerpoint and then insert the powerpoint as a file printout. This helped solve my problem! Hope this helps! :D
