Reinstalling Microsoft Office 2013 on New Computer

I have read a lot of rumors on this topic on the web and want to get a real answer before proceeding.  I purchased Microsoft Office 2013 a few months ago but never installed it.  I'd like to install it now.  However, I plan to purchase a new laptop in approximately a year.  Some of the rumors say that once you install Microsoft Office 2013, not only can you not transfer it to a new machine at a later date, but you can't even reinstall it on the same machine if you reformat the hard drive, decided to install a brand new hard drive, or something similar that changes your machine's hardware configuration.  I want to make sure that if I install Microsoft Office 2013 now that 1) I can remove it later and use the license on a new laptop (Windows 8) and 2) I can reinstall it on this same computer after reformatting my hard drive and doing a clean install of Windows (most likely Windows 7) and other apps.   Please advise.  Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft community and we are glad to assist you with your concern.

You will be able to re-install Office 2013 on the same computer if you had to reformat the hard drive and do a clean install of the operating system.

You may transfer the software to another computer that belongs to you, but not more than one time every 90 days (except due to hardware failure, in which case you may transfer sooner). If you transfer the software to another computer, that other computer becomes the "licensed computer."

Any time you transfer the software to a new computer, you must remove the software from the prior computer and you may not retain any copies.

    My computer crashed (both motherboard an hard drive). I finally received all my data that was extracted by Geek Squad off my hard drive and am trying to install Office 2013 to my new laptop but it says I have exceeded my limit. Prior to my harddrive and motherboard crashing I had to have Geek Squad wipe my old laptop clean as hackers had gained access to it. Once they did that I downloaded Office 2013 again. I am assuming this is why I can't re download to my new laptop but the licensing agreement says I would be allowed if my hardware crashed. How do I proceed?

    I dropped my tablet and the screen cracked. I got another computer and wanted to install my office 2013 on it, but Microsoft will not allow me to activate it. You can't call them or anything. It said phone support for 2013 is not available. So I'm using Open Office.

    Is office 13 home considered Office 365?

    If so I'm still having issues trying to re-install it on my LAPTOP at home.

    When I first tried to install it, it crashed my drive.  Had to get a new drive.  I"m currently using MS 2010.

    I can't find the original link in my email to reinstall.  I lost my product Key, and I was hung up on the phone when I called Microsoft to help me over a week ago. The shell  of office is still there, It ask me to ACTIVATE the account. When I do it ask me to sign in to my account but it says it's the incorrect account. I put in my phone number it sends me a code. I put that in and it says I have no account or it's the wrong account.....I'm lost 

    Please, Please why can I not get a straight answer......I'm tired.....
