just trying this now, so really hope this works. thanks for the help.
I've been reading hundreds of posts and some fixes from various folks and I'm glad some of you found a solution. But for those of who are not tech savvy, by choice, your suggestions may as well be written in Sanskrit. I shouldn't have to go on a site like this to get my computer up and running. It's like going to the hospital and the Dr telling me I have to take out my own inflamed appendix. The operating room and instruments are down the hall and to your right. Be sure you clean up the OR before you leave.

Just be glad that there are people out here who are willing to take the time to give advice to people that have to turn to these forums. It isn't our fault that the manufacturers make you have to do this, but we have all been stuck with no help before (especially those of us who were serious about computers back when DOS was still ruling as king) and we understand that there are a lot who need help and you are correct, you should not be put in this position but we have given them the power to do this to us. So, since it is now an unavoidable situation that will happen from time to time it is great that there are very experienced IT people out here who are willing to visit these forums and lend a helping hand. Back in the early days you figured it out on your own or you didn't get it fixed because almost nobody knew anything about computers.
