Office 2013 missing after June 11 Microsoft auto upates

Why has Microsoft provided no response!!!!!  Clearly a large issue.  All programs within Office 2013 have been deleted.  What fix is recommended????????????

I was able to recover by using the fix tool on microsoft's web site for uninstall of office 365.  Then after the reinstall, everything worked.  Obviously a bug out there; hopefully they can find it and prevent the problem in the future.

I hope this helps others as I have fixed the problem I had. Please read.

I had the problem of being unable to access any of the Microsoft Office 2013 products upon installing the latest Windows 7 update for June 11, which was very frustrating as it is my work laptop. This came into effect after the system rebooted to install the updates. When attempting to open a Microsoft program, a Microsoft pop up said to try a quick fix/repair which did not work and brought me to this forum.

I proceeded to restore windows to before the update (May) by opening the control panel-system and security-backup and restore and selecting recover system settings. I thought this would work but it did not. I then restored Microsoft Office to a previous update in May by right clicking Microsoft Office from the Windows start button-programs-Microsoft Office and selecting the Previous Versions tab and selecting an earlier version (I chose June 9 as I know it worked then) and clicking restore...... This still did not resolve the problem! I restarted the computer between each step to ensure the changes would take place (if they worked).

I then tried another idea (which worked for me). I opened the control panel-uninstall or change program-right clicked Microsoft Office and select change-online repair (previously I had tried the quick fix, so i thought what harm can an online repair do!) It took about 15-20 minutes but I knew it was a step in the right direction as the Microsoft Office logo appeared on the screen. It said it was loading and in the bottom right corner said that office is installing in background and that I had a slow connection. After it finished i tried to open an office program at alas it opened! I had to enter my product key to prove it was licensed (I couldn't remember the email and password). It all seems to be working fine now. At no point did I uninstall any programs. I think i will turn off the Microsoft Office updates until i know there is a fix, this has taken me nearly my whole work day to fix. I hope this works for others too! Not true, I think. I installed most of the June Windows Updates on Wednesday evening 11 June. I'm not sure how long they'd been waiting for me to give the go-ahead, but probably a few hours.

Office 2013 did not update itself until 24 hours later, in the evening of 12 June. I've had no problems (touch wood) so far with the updated MSO 15.0.4623.1003 32-bit on W7 SP1 Pro x64.

My apologies. Let me be specific about what I meant. I meant that there is no distinction between when updates for Windows or updates for Office are released. They are all equal and get released when they are ready. My real point was a response to what was said by the one who posted that they didn't realize that they were handled differently. They are not. The only difference is that you can turn off Updates in Office while not affecting updates for anything else. And for the record, it can all depend on how long you make the system wait to apply any of the updates. For instance, I did that clean install a few days ago of Windows 7 and Office 2013. I did not allow any updating until I had the computer set up like I wanted. I then turned updating back on and allowed all updates that have come out since Windows 7 Pro and Office 2013 were released to be applied at the same time. There were 163 of them. The Windows and the Office updates all got applied at the same time. Usually they get applied as they come out. If it happens to be the same time then it is the same time. If not, then it is as they get done. So I am sorry my rush to make a point was confusing. I should have taken time to explain in detail. But to make it clear, depending on circumstances they can be applied at the same time or at different times, but the important thing here was that you can specifically turn Office updates off without affecting the application of any other updates.
