Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
I am confused about something. My computer with Office 2013 ran fine for the first day after I switched to a clean install of Win 7 Pro and it downloaded and installed 162 updates for Windows first thing. It has not listed any updates for Office yet. But anyway, Office went berserk with all those different symptoms I mentioned and ended up Uninstalling itself. After cleaning up with the FixIt tool and reinstalling it, Office is running fine now. No more updates have been applied and I did the same kind of install as last time. Why isn't it crashing now? If nothing changed, shouldn't it have stopped working by now and be uninstalling itself? The Windows updates are there still.
I do have an idea. Someone mentioned something about video acceleration. I did turn off some unneeded Services yesterday before it happened. They were unnecessary, but one was the AMD External Events Utility and also the Bluetooth service. The AMD thing is installed with the video driver. Could turning off either of them have caused this? Or any other service you can think of? Maybe mine was not related to the updates but to a Service I turned off. But it is still off and everything is working fine after the reinstall. If anyone has an idea, let me know please. Thank you.
