Office Home and Business 2013 is now blank under "file size" in Programs and Features following the June 11 Microsoft update.  How do I recover it?

CAUTION - you can't always reinstall without OEM support if your computer came preloaded from the factory. Directions at www.office.com/myaccount stop installation and tells you (me) that you have to go through OEM support.  For me, that was Toshiba and I had to pay for support plan to have them remote in to my computer and do the re-install.

WARNING - just because you fix it once, it might happen again.  Thankfully the rep gave me the address & process for the re-install, because when I started my laptop today, the system went throught the dreaded Applying Patches xxxxxx process (which I thought I undid and turned off yesterday when this happened the first time).  Sure enough, my Office 2013 is nuked again today and I've got to go through the whole process again today on the same computer.

I am having the same problems.  Can't open any Office files.  I tried uninstalling all the updates from 12 June since everything was OK until then but it didn't help.  I really need to get to my files.  Can MS help a novice fix this problem??

I'm on the phone now with tech support. They are uninstalling and reinstalling everything. Hopefully that works, but it'll be a pain if I have to do this to all computers. VERY time consuming!

So far what seems to be working is an uninstall/reinstall of 2013.  Not optimal for sure.

Based on reading between the lines and the symptoms- it appears to me to be primarily Office 2013 clicktorun on Windows 7.  No VL/MSI/KMS deployment of 2013 is reporting this issue.

I don't read that it's the Windows updates, but the click2run update barfed.

    The past info to uninstall/reinstall:

"To resolve this problem, run the Office uninstall fixit from here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Next, re-install Office 2013 by logging into www.office.com/myaccount with your registered email address and click Install Office."

What has anyone been able to figure out?

Not much it would seem. Different people are having success getting back up with different means. What works for one person does not work for another. Everyone has different symptoms too until it stops working altogether or uninstalls itself. So not much positive to report. One thing we all agree on is that this happened in relation to some update, whether it be an update to Windows or to Office. Whatever was in that update wreaked havoc on a lot of Office installations.
