Office Home and Business 2013 is now blank under "file size" in Programs and Features following the June 11 Microsoft update.  How do I recover it?

    Hi Caine0001

Can't get it to work :(.  Have un-installed using your link and re-installed from my account.  However, at about 91% it comes up with a box saying "background installation ran into a problem".  It then just hangs and hangs (left it for hours) and when I cancel it it just says no changes will be saved.  I tried using your second link - the office fix - but it won't let me use it.  Says I don't have the right permissions etc.  I am logged on as administator though.  Probably being a bit thick but, as I'm getting no joy whatsoever from MS, just don't know what to do next.

    Aravinda

I get a pop-up saying "something went wrong".  Try to repair from Program menu, but it won't do that either.  I tried to do your fix but that didn't work.  Also, I installed Microsoft Office 2013, 9 months ago, so when I go to my account, it says it doesn't recognise it or my Product Key.

Please help - what else can I do?

    Julie

I have been fixing several machines over the last few days and talking to other IT department heads at a few companies ...

Have you been able to identify any factor common to the affected machines? Or to the unaffected ones, for that matter?

No I haven't. But to tell the truth, I have been so busy trying to keep up and keep everybody's machine going that I haven't really had time to focus on things like common denominators. But that will be in the back of my mind from now on out.
