Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
You are very welcome. I just wish there was an easy fix for everyone. But we make do with what we have, right? Once again, good luck to everyone.

Office Home and Business 2013 is now blank under "file size" in Programs and Features following the June 11 Microsoft update. How do I recover it?

This fixed it for me, Caine0001 just wanted to extend a big thank you for taking the time to share.
strange. How long are they going to let this go on?
Hi Caine0001
Can't get it to work :(. Have un-installed using your link and re-installed from my account. However, at about 91% it comes up with a box saying "background installation ran into a problem". It then just hangs and hangs (left it for hours) and when I cancel it it just says no changes will be saved. I tried using your second link - the office fix - but it won't let me use it. Says I don't have the right permissions etc. I am logged on as administator though. Probably being a bit thick but, as I'm getting no joy whatsoever from MS, just don't know what to do next.
Yours is a weird problem. You can't right-click and Run as Administrator? I haven't seen this come up with this file before. If you are an admin, can you go into User Account Control Settings and move the bar all the way to the bottom just long enough to run the fix. That second button has not failed me yet when it comes to an install that is stuck at a certain percentage. But if you can't get it to work and you keep having problems, I can only tell you what I said in the message above to Julie. I wish I could be on site for everyone to try to help. I might not be able to fix it, but maybe we could together. I have not had even one that I haven't been able to get back to a working condition yet. And I have not had to use a System Restore or a Backup yet. The biggest thing if you can get Office going again, is to make sure you turn off the Office updates. Leave Windows updates on, but turn off the Office only updates until they get this fixed.
They have to get this fixed soon or it could turn into a big financial hit for them. With over a billion Office installs you have to think like I said in an earlier post that at least 20% have upgraded to 2013. But even if only 10% have and they are saying that 1% of those are affected, that is still a million customers. At the price of Office, if they were to lose that many customers.... well you can do the math. So they have to get this fixed and I think it is a much bigger deal than they want to let us know. Just one man's opinion....

I get a pop-up saying "something went wrong". Try to repair from Program menu, but it won't do that either. I tried to do your fix but that didn't work. Also, I installed Microsoft Office 2013, 9 months ago, so when I go to my account, it says it doesn't recognise it or my Product Key.
Please help - what else can I do?
Julie
myaccount does not recognize my two Active Product Keys. I got them through the HUP program so it doesn't recognize them. Since I can't see your machine or know how it is set up or even your Office environment it is hard to say what you should try. But all but a couple of the machines I have gotten back up have just required a complete uninstall and reinstall of Office, sometimes using the Office Fix file from Microsoft to clean things up. On a few I have gone into the registry and removed references to Office and also had to manually delete a few folders on my own that even the Fix from MS does not take care of. But I think that the most difficult cases are due to something in the registry that needs to be addressed. That would go along with what the tech told me. He said that the problem was a registry corruption problem and they were trying to track it down. But I never know if they are just trying to get me off the phone or if it is the truth. in this case, i believe it. That is the only thing I can tell you is to get it off the computer and reinstall. If you can't and Office is a must for you, you can only reinstall Windows and Office to get back to a working condition unless you are among the lucky few that seem to have a System Restore from before the problem that will work. Or maybe a recent full backup that will work? I am sorry. If it was in front of me I would do some troubleshooting and try to help (not that it would help any, but I would try). If you have any specific questions let me know and I will try to answer them for you.
