Office Home and Business 2013 is now blank under "file size" in Programs and Features following the June 11 Microsoft update.  How do I recover it?

    Hello,

I contact MS and the solution was to deinstall Office 2013. But it worked only after download the file from:

    go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9815935

the program deinstalled the 'rest' of my office version. After deinstallation it was possible to install office 2013 as new - and, good news - all my acounts, contacts and emails have been saved...puuhhh

    Best regards

    Thomas

Anyone have luck figuring out which update is the culprit?

I'd like to block it at centralized WSUS server to hopefully prevent it from causing much more damage.

Just for giggles I remote desktoped into the one in California with this issue. It shows Office 2013 Pro en-us version 15.0.4615.1002. Quick repair fails "Something went wrong" with error code 2147483634-8. Online repair never gets past step 1 of 4 and fails with error code 0-4.

They're on a super-slow connection so I can't do much at the moment. I might try to reconnect later and do the reinstall and let it run over the weekend (yes it's that slow so I don't want to impact the other users at that location) but maybe that info will help someone find an explanation/cause/fix.

That version number means that the May 2014 Office updates are the last ones that were installed. Here is the link to the page showing what that Update for Office consisted of: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2964042/en-us .
