Office 2010 Service Pack 2 install fails

@AltMale: I have Win7 64-bit and am unable to install MS Office  2010, Service Pack 2 for same reasons you listed. Tried to follow instructions given by Rohn007 asked on  and found them to be useless. How did you fix your problem. Would really appreciate your advice.

I am having the exact problem as stated.

However, the program is looking for a SingleImageWW.msi file in C:\MSOCache\All Users{90140000-003D-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}-C\ which is empty. A search of the hard drive reveals that the file is nowhere to be found.

I have used both Microsoft update and downloaded the KB2687455 32 byte file. Results are the same. Rebooted between attempts.

Installing updates should not be this time consuming or difficult. This software is frought with problems....  Is there a lemon guarantee? Right....

If you fight and kick and scream loud enough you may be able to convince them to refund your purchase price. But I wouldn't hold my breath, Billy G REALLY needs YOUR money ...

I have the exact same experience with my HP Laptop computer.  I cannot find the MSOCache folder which is what is needed. Also, of course, no SingleImageWW.msi file is found. So, without that it seems that it is not possible to install SP2 of Microsoft Office 2010. I have Windows 7, Office 2010 32 bit version. All previous updates have worked in the past. 

Any work arounds on this problem will be highly appreciated. I cannot believe Microsoft does not fix this problem right away because in trolling through the web, it is obvious many, many people are unable to install the SP2 unless, by chance, they have still retained the MSOCache folder somehow. My Office 2010 came preinstalled, so don't have any CDs, I think.

Not good, Microsoft. Please take care of this or maybe someone knows how to fix this.

Having the CDs is not helpful. I have them &  they make no difference.
