Office 2010 Service Pack 2 install fails

Just tried to install Service Pack 2 for 32 bit version, both from Windows Update and from the Microsoft download page.  Neither install will complete.  Anyone else having this problem?

    Product: Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - Update 'Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455) 32-Bit Edition' could not be installed. Error code 1603

    This is the error that I get in the logs. OS is Server 2008 Standard x86. It is a Citrix server with Office apps published.

    Tried to install the needed Office 2010 SP2 through Windows Update (from our internal WSUS server) several times. Won't go.

    Then went out to the KB2687455 and pulled the 32 bit exe. It throws the error above.

    Yes, I have been having problems with this install.  It downloads, but won't install.  The error states "on a network resource that is unavailable" with the error code 8024002D.  When I look that code up, it's worthless.

    Hi Poppy-c

    I tried your solution; after first doing a sfc\scannow - which reported no integrity errors.  The install worked;

    I now have Office 2010 Home and Office version 14.0.7015.100 installed. 

    I also have Win 7 Home Premium Version 6.1.7601 SP1 build 7601 installed for others who may be trying to find help.  My system type is x64-based PC.  My Windows Update is no longer showing an "important" update (KB2687455) as waiting to be installed.

    The reason I am trying to install Office 2010 SP2 is because Windows Update notified me that I have this "important" update.  KB2687455.

    I find it interesting that Windows Update identifies the size as 382.5KB.  And the size at location: http://www.microsoft.com/en-ie/download/details.aspx?id=39667 is 638.2KB. 

    Why the difference in size?
