Cannot install office 2013 Error "Microsoft office professional plus 2013 encountered an error during setup"

Now I have the ultimate answer i worked for 4 days and i am successful now...

First of all try the old steps..

Step 1: Run the fix it from the following link to remove traces of Office: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us

Step 2: Once the fix it process is complete try the step below to rename the Microsoft Help Folder and check if it helps: · Hold Windows key + R. · Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter: %Programdata% Rename the 'Microsoft Help' folder as 'Microsoft Help. OLD'

After coming in the programdata folder delete all files related to  ms office by your own common sense... Ex - PowerPoint publisher , word , excel etc any releated folder....If there are no folders then leave it..

Step 3 : go to program files of your pc and completely delete the ms office folder if there are more folders related to the ms office then  remove them too..ex- msbuild , microsoft office analysis ,  OR any related files by your own common sense.

Step :4  now , Hold Windows key + R. · Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter: %appdata %

After coming to the app data folder.. there  3 more folders will be found more find any ms office related folder among these 3 folders and completely delete the ms office related folders by your own common sense ex - PowerPoint ,excel , publisher , word etc... If there are no folders then leave..

Now comes the last step

Now open the ms office 2013 or 2016  setup with administrator 's privilege... By right clicking on the setup and clicking run as administrator..

Disable any type of antivirus before installation because they can block some features......of the installation...

because it is not an issue, we have even computers running Office 2010 or 2013 with Windows 10 or Windows 7. You don't need compatibility settings to make the Office installer work.

Well, I didn't think so, but having a Windows 10 computer running Windows 7, 8, 8.1 MICROSOFT apps, give problems. So you saying that it isn't an "issue", and the compatibility settings aren't necessary, then tell the man how to solve his problem. I still say try the "compatibility" mode. If what you're doing doesn't work, what's wrong with trying something else that might? Really?

Thanks for your post, I've been Googling for 2 weeks now and couldn't find a solution. Yours did, and I don't know why I didn't think of that before .

Noticing your detail about the processes you went through, I found that a couple more could've/should've been tried. They may be in the "few more", but I found these to be critical.

1. "%temp%" to get the complete temp folder content. Just typing "temp" doesn't always get it done. Then you "Select All", and "Delete". All of the items won't show themselves deleted, and you get the message that they couldn't be deleted.
2. Restart the computer...,
3. Type "regedit" into the search box, and when it opens, go through each HKEY category, find "Software">Microsoft>Office anything, and delete the keys. And you must go through EACH Key category, all 5.
4. Restart the computer...,
5. After restart, check "C://ProgramFiles/MicrosoftOffice/Office15", and delete that folder.
6. Restart the computer...,

After restart, right click on the Office location, and select "Open". Scroll to "setup", right click and choose to "Run as administrator"...,

That's no guarantee, but that is my two cents worth. It worked for me on both systems that I had trouble with. Whenever you attempt an install, there are bits and pieces of the data associated with the application in all of the critical areas. And they will appear to block any installation processes.
