Google Drive now supported in Word for iPad?

So Word for iPad's latest update allows integration with Google Drive, but I can't get it to work.

I checked in 'Add a place' - I can select OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, Dropbox or Sharepoint, but no sign of (Google) Drive.

Under ". . . more" , and "Locations" there's a slide button to select Google Drive, but I can't see any effect.  Even with this switched on, Drive doesn't appear under any of the menus.

Is this a bug?

Hello Microsoft......please use Apple Share Sheets in Office on iOS and include Google Drive while your at it as well please!

Is this thing on?  Are they hearing us as its been months!  I know Google is the enemy, but you have customers that use Google Drive as well and need the capability!

And not sure if its possible, but it would be nice to be able to have the option to email attachment with another app like gmail app.

Sorry JumpingFool - I see what you mean - you can't open files from GoogleDrive from within the iWorks apps, but at least you have the option to 'Open In' when you select a file from within Google Drive itself - a bit like double clicking/right clicking on a file in a desktop OS. iWorks apps do talk quite happily to Google Drive the other way however, i.e. for saving from within-app.

I have confirmed that this issue is not limited to Microsoft products - Google Drive is also not accessible via apple's own iWork apps (Pages, etc). I installed box as referenced in the artcile above and all works fine - I can open and save files from box exactly as expected in all the office apps.

Pages, Keynote and Numbers all seem quite happy to talk to Google Drive!
