I am getting the error, “Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. 30088-4” when trying to install Office 2013. What should I do?

If you receive this error:

Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. Error Code 30088-4

Use this article to remove Office and then try installing it again.

    But it does not explain why removal of office necessary. AND it is on my 5 licences. Next year I may not renew 365 and start using one of the free suites. Treat me like this after paying for every upgrade bar one since Word for DOS.

    I dislike windows 8 more than ever.

    But it is on WIN 7 as well, not just WIN 8. It took 3 runs of the fix to allow install of office 365.

    Someone please help. I received an email stating that I needed to install an update for Office 365. I clicked on the link and the install began, only to end with an error message (2-4) saying that a file was needed, which couldn't be found, and this wiped out my original install.  Now email, Word, and all other Office 365 programs are TOTALLY UNAVAILABLE AND HAVE DISAPPEARED  What now?  Thanks a million.  Meredith
