Hi Naman,

If you receive this error:

Something went wrong. Sorry, we ran into a problem. Go online for additional help. Error Code 30088-4

Use this article to remove Office and then try installing it again.

All I did was Save the file instead of just clicking run.

I have the error.  I de-activated and tried to re-activate; no help.

I could not re-install so I used the utility and fix posted here to remove Office, after which I was able to install it again.  My account page shows one license used and the install was successful.

If I try to activate the product I get a message telling me there is an unspecified error and the product cannot be activated just now.

So, I have a legally purchased product that was working until I had my laptop keyboard replace and now it will not activate.

    Follow-up note:

I Googled the error and got to a Microsoft Live support site.  This annoying window follows the screen, asking I want to chat.  I chose to do so.

The window advised that they were reviewing my concern and would get to me shortly.  That is interesting because I never was asked to enter the concern.  There was also no progress bar to let me know I was actually in queue.

So, I have a dead product that cannot be activated with no support available.  It works very well on my desktop but this laptop is mostly useless without it.

    Microsoft strikes again.

    UPDATE:

Microsoft Live's support site recommended going to Control Panel and running a repair.  I did, and it re-installed the program.  I was then taken through the license process.  It still fails with this error:

We're sorry, something went wrong and we can't do this for you right now.  Please try again (0x80070005).

    This really sucks.
