Microsoft Office Upload Center cache constantly needs repair

I originally posted this in Office365 as that was the forum I was sent to from my Administrator panel. However, they have said to post here instead. So here goes.

Since a few days ago (around the time I installed Lync Basic instead of Lync 2010), the Microsoft Office Upload Center constantly needs repair. I have deleted the caches in User/App Data/Local/Microsoft/Office/14.0/OfficeFileCache and also /15/OfficeFileCache

It is the one in /15.0 that is the issue (now up to OfficeFileCache - 10.old).

When I try the repair option, it says something is accessing the cache and please close all Office apps. Even if there is no Office app running. I stopped Lync automaticallly starting, rebooted and still the same. I have to close in the systray SkyDrivePro and SkyDrive and then the Repair can continue. Then the error is cleared.

I can leave it for 10 minutes and the Upload Centre icon sits in the systray quite happliy. Until I open Windows Explorer and click on the SkyDrivePro icon, I can see my SkyDrivePro files in Explorer as normal with the green ticks, the SkyDrivePro icon in systray says it's up to date (nothing being processed) and then the Office Upload Center error comes back.

"The Microsoft Office Document Cache encountered a problem and needs to be repaired."

I have Office 2010 on the desktop and Office365 as my company's main work environment.

I'm baffled. How can I stop this happening? Thanks.

also

I have Office 2010 on my desktop and Office365 as the work environment as stated above. The only Office 2013 components are SkyDrivePro (which used to work fine without these cache issues) and Lync (just installed via Office365 as instructed by the Office365 site to upgrade the Lync2010 I used to have which worked fine).

I am on a home peer to peer network with office 2013 so it may not be a solution if you are on a corporate domain but the solution suggested solved all my problems, including the corrupted cache that you are discussing.

Incidentally I've found that it's deleting or renaming the OfficeFileCache folder in User/App Data/Local/Microsoft/Office/15/ causes SkyDrive Pro to fail to open.

Same problem for me. I'm running Windows 8 Pro with Office 365 Home Premium. SkyDrive Pro is syncing a folder from my Office 365 Business account.

Was working well for a couple of weeks. A couple of days ago SkyDrive Pro stopped syncing and Microsoft Office Upload Center reported that it needs to repair the Document Cache. I closed Skydrive Pro, repaired the cache and it seemed fine for a few minutes, then reported it had to repair again. And again, and again...

Through troubleshooting this issue (including manually removing the OfficeFileCache folder, uninstalling and reinstalling Office 365 and SkyDrive Pro) I royally screwed things up so that SkyDrive Pro wouldn't even load anymore. Not a peep.

I found that if I created a new Windows profile, SkyDrive Pro and the Upload Center worked!

So, I 'refreshed' my Windows 8 PC, wiping everything and reinstalled everything. That was yesterday and it's been good for 24 hours, now the f*****g Upload Center problem has reappeared. "...Document Cache needs to be repaired..."

    Please help!

Exactly the same problem and virtually the same circumstances.

I have followed advice in other threads to: delete cache info, disconnect SkyDrivePro libraries and re-sync to the library, clean boot, etc.  No difference.  Could there be issues with credentials not passing through?  I rebuilt this PC with a fresh Win7 Pro install and Office 2010 so not too many other conflicts.

I echo SateliiteMike's request; please help.

I am now back in our main office and I discover that one of my colleagues has the same issue but the other two don't.

Myself and my colleague with the issue both installed Lync Basic into a previously working Office 2010 / SkyDrivePro / Lync 2010 / Office 365 online system. Both have Microsoft Upload Center issues (to be more accurate, I don't anymore but I did and that's what caused this post in the first place.)

My other two colleagues have not installed Lync Basic and their systems don't have the problem with Microsoft Upload Center.

So now we have 50% of the people in this office with a broken Office 365 / SkyDrivePro / Lync Basic system - what should we do to get this fixed?
