I originally posted this in Office365 as that was the forum I was sent to from my Administrator panel. However, they have said to post here instead. So here goes.
Since a few days ago (around the time I installed Lync Basic instead of Lync 2010), the Microsoft Office Upload Center constantly needs repair. I have deleted the caches in User/App Data/Local/Microsoft/Office/14.0/OfficeFileCache and also /15/OfficeFileCache
It is the one in /15.0 that is the issue (now up to OfficeFileCache - 10.old).
When I try the repair option, it says something is accessing the cache and please close all Office apps. Even if there is no Office app running. I stopped Lync automaticallly starting, rebooted and still the same. I have to close in the systray SkyDrivePro and SkyDrive and then the Repair can continue. Then the error is cleared.
I can leave it for 10 minutes and the Upload Centre icon sits in the systray quite happliy. Until I open Windows Explorer and click on the SkyDrivePro icon, I can see my SkyDrivePro files in Explorer as normal with the green ticks, the SkyDrivePro icon in systray says it's up to date (nothing being processed) and then the Office Upload Center error comes back.

I have Office 2010 on the desktop and Office365 as my company's main work environment.
I'm baffled. How can I stop this happening? Thanks.

I have Office 2010 on my desktop and Office365 as the work environment as stated above. The only Office 2013 components are SkyDrivePro (which used to work fine without these cache issues) and Lync (just installed via Office365 as instructed by the Office365 site to upgrade the Lync2010 I used to have which worked fine).

I am on a home peer to peer network with office 2013 so it may not be a solution if you are on a corporate domain but the solution suggested solved all my problems, including the corrupted cache that you are discussing.
I am now back in our main office and I discover that one of my colleagues has the same issue but the other two don't.
Myself and my colleague with the issue both installed Lync Basic into a previously working Office 2010 / SkyDrivePro / Lync 2010 / Office 365 online system. Both have Microsoft Upload Center issues (to be more accurate, I don't anymore but I did and that's what caused this post in the first place.)
My other two colleagues have not installed Lync Basic and their systems don't have the problem with Microsoft Upload Center.
So now we have 50% of the people in this office with a broken Office 365 / SkyDrivePro / Lync Basic system - what should we do to get this fixed?
Well, that "advice" has now broken my access to local copies of Sharepoint libraries and sites. Thanks.
But it still does not work. There is now NO SkyDrivePro icon in the taskbar. When I go to my Office 365 and click on the Sync button for SkyDrive(Pro) and SharePoint libraries, nothing happpens. Not even an error message.
In the context menus in Explorer, the option SkyDrivePr is now greyed out. I go to Start > All Programs > Microsoft Office 2013 > SkyDrive Pro and nothing happens.
How can I get my SharePoint and SkyDrivePro back working again as they should?
Why would I want to uninstall Office 365? I am the Administrator for our company's Office 365 P1 Small Business plan so what would happen if I uninstall it? Besides that, I just checked in Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features and there is nothing listed for Office 365.

You may uninstall Office 365 using the fix it tool from the article below and check if Office upload center works fine.

Note: Try to save the fix it tool to the desktop and then run it to remove Office.
If ‘fix it’ tool failed to run, you may try the manual removal of Office 2013 step from the above article.
