Status Bar Sum Total Disappears

It's ridiculous that this feature has been removed. I see zero benefit for removing it. Please reinsert this asap.

This is the first time I have wished for another user friendly spreadsheet software.

You are my hero, and have saved me an insurmountable amount of time! We just updated to 2016 (from 2010... sad how out of date the comps at work were) and this was driving me nuts! Didn't work on my 2013 at home either! Thank you thank you thank you!

I would also like to add my support to all of the other feedback provided in this thread.  As a financial controller, I practically live and breathe Excel and have always loved it as a tool for creating efficiencies in my job.  However the removal of this feature has caused me to hate Excel for the first time ever.  Because of these figures disappearing in the status bar Excel is now making me feel completely inefficient in my role since it is something that I previously used numerous times every day.

The "workaround" or opening separate instances of Excel is not also an additional inefficiency but it is also completely un-usable for me for the following reasons:

1. All of the spreadsheets I use are stored in a Document Management system and the only way I can access them is to open the DM system and then open the spreadsheet from there.  As the DM system automatically opens each new spreadsheet in the same instance of Excel I have no option for opening them in separate instances.  There is no way I can access the spreadsheet (saved in our DM system) from within an instance of Excel.
2. I often need to copy worksheets from one Excel document (workbook) to another.  If I have the spreadsheets open in separate instances of Excel it is not possible for me to do this as the second workbook is not visible in the "Move or Copy" drop-down list.

Can you please please please make patching this issue a high priority.  Obviously this is affecting many users and creating a lot of unhappy customers so surely it must be in your best interests to resolve this issue, especially considering how many alternative packages are out there on the market these days.

I have to throw in my two cents of agreement.  It was something I used several times a day, and now it's gone.  This is a huge disadvantage for me.
