Hi

As per the description you are facing issue while trying to access the Excel program. Let me assist you with the issue.

Does the error pop up as soon as you click on the Excel program to open or once the Excel is opened?

Try the steps below and check if it helps:

Step 1:

Try to open Excel in safe mode and check if it opens:

· Hold Windows key + R.

· Copy and paste, or type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter:

Excel /safe

Note: There is space between Excel and**/**

If the issue does not occur in Excel safe, then try to disable add-ins associated with Excel 2013 and check the result.

· Click on File menu, Options and then Add-ins.

· Click on Go button besides Manage: Com-in Add.

· Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox to disable them.

Step 2:

If the above step fails, try the step below:

Right click on Excel (.exe) > Properties > Compatibility > uncheck all the boxes, click Ok and check if it helps.

To access Excel (.exe), open the following location:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\Excel.exe

Or

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Root\Office15\Excel.exe

Try to open Excel and check if it opens.

I hope the above steps helps. If you need further assistance on this particular issue or any other Office related issues let us know and we will be glad to assist you.

Thank you.

I tried the second step, but 'compatability' was not in my properties so couldn't progress any further.

I tried the above and none of them worked, there is something wrong with your software and it only impacts Excel. This is a Micrsoft responsibility and should be fixed at no cost to the customer

    Hi Deepa,

Same problem here when running Excel only for the first time and I have tried both steps with no resolve.

I am running Windows Server 2012 Standard with Excel 2013 (purchased today).

I get the same "we're sorry..." error message in safe mode, with various compatibility mode tests, and when running as administrator.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Bobby
