Can .pst file be located in Onedrive?

I have read some other posts and I am thoroughly confused.  Here is my setup, and what I would like to do:

I have a subscription to Office 365.  My main email account is a Gmail account, and it´s a POP account.  I also use  Calendar, Notes, and Tasks on my Outlook 365 setup on my main desktop computer.  I also have a Laptop that I only use when I am on travel.  Therefore, I never use the Desktop and Laptop simultaneously; I use either one or the other.

Until now, each time I go on travel, I need to manually copy my C:\Username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook[emailaddress].pst file from my Desktop to my Laptop, and then copy it back to my Desktop after the end of my trip.  This is awkward and very inconvenient, to say the least.

Could I move the storage location of the .pst file to Onedrive, so that both Outlook 365 installations in both the Desktop and the Laptop are pointing to the same .pst file and I wouldn´t have to do all the manual copying anymore?

If I can do that, what steps would I have to do to to change the storage location of the .pst file so that I don´t mess up anything?

Alternatively, if storing the .pst file in Onedrive was not supported or recommended, is there a way to automatically keep two installations of Office365 as I described, in synch?

    Hi,

    Let me assist you with the issue.

    It is not possible to have the .pst file saved on One Drive and then shared on two different machines.

    However, in your scenario, the best way to sync your email account is to setup the email account using the IMAP protocol.

    And what would I have to do to have automatic synching of Calendar, Tasks, and Notes?  One option I tried was testing using outlook.com, but outlook.com doesn´t support all of Outlook 365 features, notably Categories.  Then, I would be again stuck with having to do manual copies of the .pst file, anyway.

    As for the instruction you point on IMAP, they explain how to create a new IMAP email account, but they don´t mention the steps for the case most of us confront who would need to make a transition from an existing POP account.  Issues like how to transfer "Saved" sub-folders of the existing POP account to the new IMAP account.

    Hi, I'm a random user.

    To have your email, calendar and contacts sync across all your devices, POP or IMAP are not your answer. you are best off using the exchange active sync program which you obtain for free when signing up for an outlook.com account.

    After signing up you set up automatic forward on your Gmail account to your new outlook.com account. Also you may use your gmail address as default on your outlook.com account so you don't have to notify anyone of a new email address.

    When you sign in with your new outlook.com account on your outlook 2013 on your various devices, you will always have them in sync.
