Unbelievable. I have the same problem. It worked fine this morning before I went to work. I come home now after a long day at work, and this nonsense. This is pure bovine feces Microsoft. Are you trying to loss customers on purpose?

My Offcie 2013 was also purchased online (through Microsoft Store) and installed through a link. If that is how you purchased it, all you have to do is go to your Microsoft Store account and re-download the installer from that link.

What if you do not have a disk. My Office program was purchased and install from an email link. What about all of the information I have stored? Will I lose this?

I am still getting the same problem even after running the checks required. Do you figure out how to install this?

No, that's useless. Repair doesn't work either.

The item for Office in "Programs and Features" generates the same "Something went wrong..." error messages as the Office itself. All options - "Quick repair", "Online repair" and "Uninstall" - generate such messages. Here's a more detailed description

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2013_release-office_install/office-no-longer-starts-with-something-went-wrong/8e34ba1a-3752-42d1-8d20-0e77c57eed71

The only option available at this time is the complete uninstall and reinstall of Office applications. Since it is impossible to use "Programs and Features" entry to unininstall Office, you have to download a standalone Office uninstaller utility from Microsoft at this link

This utility will remove Offcie from your computer. Tne you can reinstall it from scratch the usual way.
