The automatic update foor Office 2013 deployed by Microsoft yesterday completely destroyed the functionality of Office 2013 everywhere. It also destroyed the functionality of the office uninstaller/repair utility.

The only known solution available at this point is a complete uninstall and reinstall of Office products. Since the normal uninstaller does not work, you have to download a standalone "Office killer" utility from Microsoft:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501

Use that utility to completely remove Office 2013 from your computer and then reinstall it the usual way. This will make it work. Of course, it is strongly recommended to immediately disable the automatic updates for Office products (see File -> Account menu, right-hand side).

I am completely disgusted with Microsoft - i too am having the same problem - lots of works planned this morning for a meeting I'm now in - AND NO ACCESS TO MY WORK therefore I cannot report and work from my files.

I truly feel there should be a class action against this company for leaving me and otherS HIGH AND DRY.

Microsoft has destroyed all trust in their product. Can not uninstall program, can not download new program because the old one still shows on the hard drive. Customer service is no help because I cant understand what they are saying,,, Trying to contact someone that speaks clear and precise English is impossible,. Thanks Microsoft, you have made using the computer a real challenge. Hello Mac
