how can I retrieve a product key for Office 365 that was lost

How was Office 365 purchased and from where?

Which Office 365 product did you purchase?

Did you register for Office 365 suite using the product key for the first time?

Are you installing Office 365 for the first time?

If not, a Product Key is only needed to set up your Microsoft account for the first time. Once you’ve set up a Microsoft account, you can install or reinstall Office at any time by visiting office.com/myaccount and signing in with your Microsoft account.

    I have my Product key but the day that I was installing the product the lights went off and the installation could not finish. Now my Product key is not working.

    I purchased a one-year subscription to Office 365 Home and added one other user in my home.  Now, almost one year later, that user is being asked for a 25 character product key in order to use Word. We never got such a product key, or if we did, I have no idea where to find it.

    actually if you want to upgrade from 365 university to 365 home you DO need the key. Unfortunately I lost mine...so I am also stuck and tired of seeing this same old response every time that you don't need your key for anything after you install. There are times you need the key.
