Use of own domain name with Office 365 Home/Premium

I am looking to do the same thing as you so hoping we can here an answer from someone.

This was answered in depth over the last few pages.

The requirement is that a domain needs to be registered via GoDaddy to be used within outlook.com / Office 365 outlook-account.

I explained a few pages back how to use GoDaddys name servers to create a record for your domains even without the domain being registered via GoDaddy, but that is only a temporary solution because GoDaddy will deactivate it after a while (this is only intended to be used to move domains, not as a permanent production use case).

So for proper use you will have to move your domain over to GoDaddy.

There's no way around this.

After that just follow the FAQ. 

It's all really straightforward.

You can do this in outlook.com here: https://premium.outlook.com It's an additional fee and I tried it for a wile then moved it back to my hosting provider since it's just an IMAP email like gmail. If it were a Home/Premium Exchange account it would be worth the extra money but not just as another IMAP account. Hope this helped.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing:

"custom domain" or "personalised email address" as MS calls it does NOT have a fee. It's included free of charge for office 365 - subscribers.

(Of course you need a domain, registered via GoDaddy, which will cost you. Also note that it's still beta and might not be available to you as they say in their FAQ.)

Also it does NOT give you an additional email account. Neither an IMAP-Box nor an additional Exchange-box: it just gives you the option to use your existing Office 365 email (which IS infact a derivate of Exchange) with your custom domain.

And yes: it works splendidly.

My domain cannot be transferred to GoDaddy. But I've parked it on their DNS servers starting November, 2018. I've mentioned about my scenario in one of my November's or December post. Since that time I've been using it for integration with my Outlook Premium for personalised email address with success. So far there was no issue.

I've also setup another zone which I don't use, just for a test and it hasn't been removed so far. 

So, my case proves that it works without buying any premium service from GoDaddy. Despite of that I cannot guarantee any durability of that solution.
