Use of own domain name with Office 365 Home/Premium

I've just found the feature is currently in limited preview to a subset of subscribers.

It seems that this is why you haven't still get access to the feature.

First observations:

• only works with Domains registered at GoDaddy :-(
• MS disencourages from using the same domain as used for login to O365. Which is strange. That's my MS account that I use to authenticate to Windows, should I change that?  -> I'll take the risk.
• Open to test: how good this works with sub-accounts (family members that live on my O365 home license)
• Open to test: are there functions to share contacts etc. between people? (common adress book for the family)?

Ad.1) 

no. It isn't. A domain have to only be parked at / delegated to GoDaddy DNS servers. It means you may buy/ have got one from another registrar and the only things have be set up are 

1. create new GoDaddy user account or have got one
2. Create new DNS zone in GoDaddy for your domain
3. migrate DNS records from legacy service to GoDaddy
4. in your registrar service change name servers (NS) (delegate) of your domain from legacy registrar NS servers to GoDaddy ones.

Then you may start using your own domain in Office 365

So far my family members cannot use personalized email addresses. It's is mentioned in the tech article that it may happen now as it's preview stage.

I didn't know GoDaddy allows you to use their NS as delegate without having the domain there.

That's obviously what I would want to do.

For the time being I'm using a test domain at GD. And it seems to work nicely now.

Yes, family members can't participate yet, but I expect that will come, it seems to be already prepared for, looking at that there's a "member" list within the "personalised domain" settings.

Another imitation (which might be obvious) is that as each O365 aaccount seems to be able to set up exactly one mailbox / alias / address within this external domain.

So you can not have multiple mailboxes or even aliases for different purposes, except by giving out full O365 family memberships (which are obviously precious).  But hey, this still sounds really great!

I have several problems that could be resolved wit this preview. Any ideay how to get my user in the limited preview ?

Even the support sended me to a other support because they believe this is a good solition to my mail problems. After 3 different ms support department i am still waiting.......

@mrlightbulp do you participated to the office insider program to get this preview faster ?

I did participate in "insider" for Windows mobile years ago, but I don't think there is any connection to my O365 Account. With the office Account I never participated in any "insider".

Trythis linkdirectly into your management menu. There it was available for me.

If that doesn't work... 

Wasn't there some article in the press last week that from 2nd october on O365 home will have get more license (user to share with)? 

That could to me indicate some product update, perhaps they'll release this feature along with it.

That's not too far in the future.
