Use of own domain name with Office 365 Home/Premium

I cannot seem to find out whether I can add my own private domain, i.e. not a business user, but I own a personalised domain, with Office 365 Home Premium.

In other words, I would like to use ******@mydomain.com instead of ******@outlook.com.

I know you can do this with Office 365 for Business, but need to know whether this can be done with Home Premium.

Thanks

Chris

I am confused (doesn't take much!)

I own a number of domains for family members and run a Linux server with Scalix email (akin to MS Exchange).  We use the desktop version of Outlook to connect to the Scalix server in the same way you would connect to an Exchange server.

What, if anything, would be the benefit to a person like me to moving my domain to GoDaddy and accessing via my O365 subscription? Would MS host my mail and would I then be able to access it via MS Exchange in Outlook desktop or am I limited to IMAP?  I know you can do this with the business versions as I know someone doing that but it is not clear whether that is what is on offer for O365 Home.

    Can someone "de-confuse" me?

Opened support ticket.  They fixed it.

I moved my domain to godaddy and have the option to personalize the email in the outlook.com premium panel. however, I cannot link to an existing domain, so I have to purchase a new domain from GD which makes no sense to me. Is this the problem you had?

    any help?

    thanks.

A week ago I had the option available under premium features to import a domain from Godaddy with the "Get Started" button.  I decided transfer my domain to Godaddy DNS.  This took about a week.  Now I click on premium features and that section about Personalized Email Address and the Get Started button is missing.  What happened???

    I get - too bad

Sorry, this offer is for new customers only.

    Of course that is wrong.

It's a general feature available to any and all Office 365 personal or Office 365 home users.

In the beginning it was in beta and limited to a limited sub-group of users, but looking at the FAQ this restriction is not mentioned any more, so it is probably productively available for everyone now.

Follow the FAQ and you will find it. I have a european contract myself and it worked nicely since last fall.
