Use of own domain name with Office 365 Home/Premium

I have to add to this thread in hopes of getting someone to listen.  This is the age of internet identities and I purchased domains for all of my kids and my wife.  I signed up for Office 365 Home to use this as a family exchange server and it is a huge disappointment.  I manage an Enterprise deployment at work so I have to say I dove in head first to the Home product after seeing the ease of migration.  I too have hacked together the setup with Outlook.com and my hosting providers Webmail but it is slow and clunky.  I have way to much overhead at work don't need more at home.  Come on Microsoft help us out!!

I just got the free test version of Office 365 Home. I wanted too see if it was possible to migrate my domains to it. I have two domains for personal use; one for my game servers that I host free for my friends and one for family collaborations.

Please Microsoft add this feature, I want to be able to handle my personal domains in the family Office 365 account, it was disappointing that you could not. I would buy the small business version if it really was a business but it's not. Allot of people that work in IT and some outside of the field have personal domains to host biogs, games ect... As we can see in this thread.

Almost 100 replies and not a single word from MS, they should be ashamed for giving this much attention to the community :(

I honestly wonder if Microsoft is paying attention here. 

They want to be the default choice for every consumer and have the most 'productive' platform. Yet they have almost basically ignored email solutions for domain users. 

Currently i use google apps for a small fee i get domain email, one login for all up to date google services and for the security of having a paid account. 

Problem is, i use windows for work and home i will be buying a new lumia the moment i can. And use the app store constantly. Onedrive is my default file storage, skype my go to chat service. Yet i do not have the ability to use my email address in this eco system. 

Yet email is the service that ties it all together...

I wouldnt mind using the business class 365 if it still had all the features  the consumer level aswell!

I've been following this discussion for some time now and I also posted a while back. Several people have proposed 'solutions' to this missing feature. Just want to highlight that these are not really solutions. Yes, we know we can setup email to work with another provider but this is not the point - unless you don't care about a having a family domain, the whole proposition around an integrated suite/hub for family collaboration and sharing falls apart as you have to rely on workarounds and there is an unnecessary overhead in managing it all. As just an office package this product will work for many people but as a multi device family platform it's crippled.
