Use of own domain name with Office 365 Home/Premium

I had a similar problem. My solution was Zoho mail. They offer a product very similiar to Gmail with custom domains, and is free for 25 users.

It actually might work. It actually looks almost too good to be true. Where is the catch? :)

You have successfully signed up for the Free plan for your domain. You can easily set your domain for email hosting, and add upto 25 email accounts in your organization setup. You can upgrade to any of our paid plans in case you want to add more user accounts.

edit: just tried syncing calendar, contacts and sending and receiving email. Worked as expected, like with any other exchange server.

I had the same problem, but worse yet I ended up paying for both O365 Home and O365 Business., I have not been able to get a refund for the Home subscription which was never used.

But that's not all! Since the same email address was used for both I get Live logon issues with the account--when I logon to OneDrive, it asks me which account, but cannot authenticate no matter which I choose. I cannot join a Skype for Business meeting outside of my office because Live tries to connect to the decommissioned account. Those are just a few of the issues.

When you add syncing to the cloud the problems increase exponentially.  When they finally decommissioned the first account my local computer logons broke because they were synced to the cloud which was tied to THE HOME ACCOUNT. It just goes on and on.

I am still trying to get out of this mess, but no way I am going to sign on again. I will give up my domain name first.

yes, please take your own advice. That should remove you from this thread. You bring nothing related to the core issue of this topic. When people ask how to fix a flat tire you tell them to take the bus, your reply is never helpfull it's more like trolling.

As for the issue at hand MS is actually working on a solution and people can sign up to try it, unfortunatly for me I seem to be long down on the waiting list as my outlook.com account still isn't updated to the 365 backend. Frustrating because it seems like free users get it before paying users.
