I need to change the product key on a new installation of Office 2013 Home and Business. What is the procedure?

    Reija, I feel your pain... 

    Here is how to actually fix the issue, if you haven't already...

    Open up a Command Prompt (Start>CMD>Enter)

    Type in:

    If you 64bit Office with 64bit Operating System:

    cd "\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 15"

    Then

    cscript ocpp.vbs /dstatus

    Then

    Look at the Last 5 characters of the installed product key:

    Then

    cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:(the last 5 characters of the product key above)

    Here's how to do it on a 32bit Office:

    cd "\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office 15"

    Then

    cscript ocpp.vbs /dstatus

    Then

    Look at the Last 5 characters of the installed product key:

    Then

    cscript ospp.vbs /unpkey:(the last 5 characters of the product key above)

    Open up outlook, you should get a prompt to login to your Microsoft account.  Login and select the key that you are actually wanting to use.
